My long over due birth story

My labor wasvery traumatic. When I hit 34 weeks I was I diagnosed with preeclampsia and from there it was touch and go I was having about 3 appt a week to be monitored. They decided to get me to 37 weeks so Ellie's lungs could have more time but it was easy even on strict bed rest my bp was getting hight and my protein levels were only getting high as time passed. So when I went in for my check up on September 30 they decided to admit me once again only this time after 24 hours they decided the hospital would be where I would stay till I delivered Ellie. I was induced right at 37 weeks. I was in labor for about 36 hours. It started October 4 at 6 pm by having cervidil inserted. After a long night of cramping and getting no where still sitting at 1 cm I was started on oxytocin(AKA Pitocin) at 7 am. By 1 pm I hadn't made any progress I was still sitting at 1 cm. So They stopped that and let me shower and eat which didn't go well they forgot to mention to only get clear liquids. My grilled cheese and tomato soup ended up in the trash and all me and baby got was sherbet ice cream and that was hard keeping down. By 4 pm I was at 2 cm so they inserted cytotec at 430-5 hoping that would throw me into labor. The on call doctor came in at 8 I was still sitting at about 2-3 cm so she broke my water right then at 8:10pm and within seconds the contractions I thought we're bad just got alot worse. She also started the pitocin back up. Within an hour I got pain meds through my IV which don't get rid of the pain they make you very relaxed but they only last an hour and you can only get three dose's and they become less effective every dose. I got a second dose and after 45 minutes I asked for the epidural(which I said I would never get). They put the epi and a catheter and internal moniter to watch Ellie closer because her heart rate was too high and wasn't going down. They got all those going by 12 pm(Pitocin makes your contractions come harder and stronger so be ware) About 6 in the morning they realized my epidural wasn't working due to my swelling and being able to lay on my sides only (due to my bp) it was resisting the flow of the drugs so they inserted a new medication in and it was amazing but it didn't get rid of all the pain in my pelvic area but it felt amazing . One of my doctors that was there checking on a patient came in and checked me do to my on call doctor being in surgery at 10 am I was 8/9 cm. I had a small lip left. The nurse was going to deliver me but every contraction Ellie's heart rate would dip very low. THe doctor visting said to try and have me wait as long as she could just incase otherwise he would deliver me. So we waited till 10:30 and luckily he was done with surgery. He had me start pushing as soon as he arrived. After 5 minutes he wanted to do a C-section but he told me to push a couple more time Ellie's heart was still dipping really low. They decided they didn't have time to get me to the operation room decided to use the vacuum to get her out. At 10:46 am Ellie was born. She weighed 6lbs 4 oz and was 18 inches long. Her cord was around her neck and her lungs weren't quite ready. When she was born she wasn't breathing they had to resuscitate her and put her on oxygen. They let Kenny hold her for a minute so I could see her. Then they rushed her too the NICU. So after 36 hours of labor I ended up with two small tears on each side totaling in like 4 stitches. I was in pain and I wasn't able to walk for 24 hours due to being so swollen. Even after 24 hours I had to have Kenny and a nurse hold on to my arms. My Kidneys had also started shutting down while I was in labor mostly from the pree. So all in all it hurt. But part of it was the induction and I said I wouldn't use pain medication but in the end I did after anout 24 hours I couldn't take the pain. Good luck to all mommies getting ready to have their babies. I wish you all the best and hope yours goes more smoothly then mine. About my baby she was in the NICU for 5 days. After oxygen, medication, 2 blood transfusions, IV, head scans, feeding tube, umbilical catheter, wonderful care from the amazing NICU nurses and a lot of blood drawls she was cleared to go home and it's been amazing ever since. I'm thankful my doctors decided to have me got to 37 weeks instead of 35. Thanks for reading me and Ellies long labor and delivery.

Long over due update!

Hey. Sorry for the long break in post. Ellie is here but not by her own doing. At 34 weeks I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and it progressively got worse everyday to the point they induced me at 37 weeks. I was in labor for 36 hours (not fun at all I will post my labor story here soon along with pictures) Ellie was rushed to the NICU after she arrived where she stayed for 4 days. She's great now. She turned 3 weeks yesterday. She's perfect in every way.

Iowa State Fair at 31 weeks

SO last weekend Kenny and me went to the state fair. I had a blast. Got to see all the animals. The Zedonk was my favorite by far. WHo knew there was suck a think as a donk mixed with a zebra. The photography was amazing. So many great photo's. It makes me want to work even harder so I can get to the smae level as professionalism as some of those people. And oh my was the food heaven. To start it off we had walking taco and cheese curds, then cheese cake on a stick(didn't know they could do that), roasted corn, pizza, funnel cake, cup of cookies(best cookies you'll ever have), and of course strawberry smoothie. Oh and the goats.  I have never seen two grown men act like liitle kids upon seeing baby goats till Kenny and his older brother walked into the goat barn.

No he wasn't punching the cow it was licking his had. Friendliest cow I've ever met.I do have to say his brother was the highlight of the state fair and you'll see why ---->  Yes. You are seeing correct. Ellie's uncle my future brother in law was walking around the Iowa State Fair in 2005 Concert Tour Kelly Clarkson T-Shirt that he bought of E-Bay just to wear at the fair all day. Oh yes he went to the Kelly Concert that saturday night at the fair. This is why I've decided he will not be allowed to watch Ellie by himself. lol

Picture of the Belly from 29 weeks

Before I forget here's Miss Ellie's house at 29 weeks.

1st Baby Shower

We had our first of 2 baby showers this past weekend. It was fun my sister did a great job throwing it all together. There was a pretty good turn out of about 10 people out of the 18 we invited. The cake was to die for. I wish we got a picture but my sister who was doing the camera was preoccupied with getting pictures of Nolee. Oh well. It said Little Miss Ellie across it. We got some of the stuff we needed for Ellie but still along way from having it all as of right now we still have no diapers, wipes, bottles, mattress, and bunch of other stuff but we still have some time and another shower September 19. If not I get to go shopping which I love doing. THe food was great we had little deli sandwiches from Hy-Vee, chips, fruit salad served in individual waffle bowels, crackers with card dip, check mix, and raspberry lemonade mixed with diet squirt. It was all yummy me and Ellie we're in heaven. Everyone else must of loved it too we had food to feed 25 and only left overs we had we're cake. We played the game where you smell or taste the baby food and guess what it is and the baby price is right game. It was fun. We all sucked at the baby price is right.

Project Renovation has started!

We started our renovation project to get our home ready and suitable for Ellie. If you don't know we we're going to move into a new house but decided against it about a week or 2 ago due to our finical standing. we didn't want to be scrapping by with a new baby so we are going to renovate and save up till next spring or summer and get our new home then. :)

Last night Kenny completed the first project on our list of many to get done before Ellie  Arrives. We have new sturdy steps. Momma wont be falling with baby this fall.

Next we're starting on Ellie's room, the bathroom attached to her room and Ellies kitty's room witch is on the other side of her bathroom. It should be fun wish me luck I'll post before, during and after pictures in our next update. :)

We had a busy Wednesday.

Yesterday was a go, go, go, and we didn't even get all on our list completed. But we did get our new joint checking and savings opened. We are now coupledized lol. Had my 28 week check-up and glucose testing. "The Juice" was alright the first couple drinks then it became clear baby wasn't liking it. We had the lemon-lime flavor. It tasted like sprit. SO after about 10-15 minutes of drinking that we were sent to our appointment to yea after waiting 10 minutes to be scene I thought I was going to throw up everywhere that drink did not agree at all with baby. trying not to throw up for 15 minutes the nurse calls us back to weigh in still haven't gained anything this entire pregnancy I'm not complaining. The doctor turns it into a joke. "You do eat right?" and "Wow your feet and hands look great you haven't had any swelling have you?" This doctor was nice but not sure I like him. We told him we had our 3D/4D on Saturday and he asked what baby looked like we said she had some chubby cheeks and his response was "Really this early and she has chubby cheeks" It was obvious he was really thinking about how I haven't gained any. So I replied yea she's our little piggy hogging all the food. Geesh if Ellie wants to have chubby cheeks she will have them. I think her cheeks are adorable and I can't wait to see them when she's born. But me and baby are both still right on track so he said the weight isn't an issue to consider myself blessed. Oh I do. Now we have to be seen every 2 weeks so we got our next 4 appointments booked. We won't know our results for the glucose till Monday most likely. I'm not worried. Then we had a nice luch at a Mexican restaurant. And then we stopped at the half price book store we got 7 brand new books for under 20 and 2 of the books we're hard cover it was a deal. Kenny bought me a new shirt a Gap. Then we realized we wouldn't make it to my Schools office to get registered so hopefully I can get that done today considering classes start up on the 24th. I know I'm registering late but what can you do life's hectic when your getting ready for a baby.  Oh and we decided not to move that it wouldn't be in our best interest to move into a house when I won't be working and Kenny will be going on layoff so we will be starting our renovation project this weekend. I will be posting pictures and updates through the whole project. We're starting with Ellie's Nursery. I can wait to get her room started. :) Oh and only 9 days till our first shower.

We hit 28 weeks on Sunday. :)

Only 12 more weeks until baby Ellie makes her grand entrance.

Ellie in 3D

We had our 3D/4D ultrasound on Saturday afternoon ay Prenatal Vision (www.prenatalvision.com). They we're amazing. Very nice and very friendly I highly recommend them to any in Iowa. We had 9 people with us and they accommodated all of them easily. I have a big family. But any way Ellie was right on track for all the measurements and her heart rate was at 154. :) and she weighed in at 2 lbs 8 oz exactly where she should be. I'll never forget seeing her chubby cheeks. Yep she has chubby cheeks and big feet like her daddy. :) She was perfect in every way I can't wait to meet her in person.  She was very active till the last 5 minutes then she started getting tired and was like I'm done leave me alone and started snuggling into me it was cute especially when she was yawning. THe only thing that worries me is she's still in the frank breech position and doesn't seem to want to change out of it I know its way early to be worrying about this but she was in this position at 20 weeks as well and my mom said so was I till the last week. I can't help but worry I don't want a c-section I want to have a vaginal birth by all means. Hopefully all natural but i don't think I'll stick to that one. :)

Ordered Ellie's Crib and got the bedding all picked out!

All i can say is it's nice not having to worry about a crib anymore and the bedding. Since the crib we wanted was discontinued in coffee/espresso we decided to go with cherry not my first pick but the way I figured if i don't like it in the lighter wood I can refinish it but I sure It will be perfect. And for bedding we decided on the Penelope Nursery bedding from PBK. I love it and Kenny loves so we are set on one thing.

The bedding and the crib in the cherry finish :)

Way to Excited.

I can't wait for tomorrow. We have our 3D/4D Ultrasound scheduled at 1230 through Prenatal Vision. This will be the last time we will get to see baby Ellie Rose before she's born. I'm excited. After looking at pictures of other peoples 3D's I have to say I hope Ellie is nice and lets mommie get a bunch of good shots. I really want to see who's she's looking more like Kenny or me. Not that it matters I love her either way but I can't help but wonder who this active little girl that living inside me looks like. :) Then after the Ultrasound we are going out for my youngest sisters 8th birthday. We get to see G Force. Woot Woot. LOL THen out to dinner at Olive Garden because she says they have the best salads their her favorite. I love little kids their funny. I will be a fun day. Oh and the 2nd most important part we're ordering Ellies CRIB. YAY. THis will be a load off my back. I've been so worried we'd end up ordering it late and not get it in time but 12 weeks is plenty. So with all that said I'm off to make dinner and cupcakes :) I'll post picture of the ultrasound as soon as I can tomorrow.

Here we are today at 27 weeks and 5 days. :)

I Love You Ellie!

Eviction Notice

I'm posting this for a few mommies-to-be my sister showed it to me before she had her baby last March. Enjoy.

Baby Eviction Notice

Dear                    ,

I am issuing 30 day notice for EVICTION. Tenant will have 30 days in which he can either gather his belongings and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until the final day. After which, he will be physically removed from the property.

He's being evicted due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made!

Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now leaks in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, the landlord has received numerous complaints about nightly disturbances.

After 30 days from this day that he doesn’t comply with the notice will result in immediate and forceful removal at my discretion.

Love Mommy

Cribs!

After months of being set on a Da Vinci Parker 4 in 1 crib from BRU. I have discovered JCPenny's and how wonderful they are. lol. My biggest thing with the crib is I want it made of hardwood not pine. I'd ruin the wood in a week if it was pine. Which is why I no longer want a crib from BRU. The ones that aren't pine there cost an arm and a leg. So after a week of looking else where we have found 3 cribs we absolutely love from JCPenny's.

Here's the original Crib and changer we we're going to go with. It's nice but just not what I really want.

These would be our new 3 favorite cribs. I really love the last one but in the coffee finish. Hopefully that will be the one we get but either way it will be one of these 3.

This is the changer it matches all three just the legs change on each set.

July 8th, 2009 24 weeks!

Doctor's went ok. Baby's good Heart rate in the 150's now. Still no weight gain :( but didn't lose any either this time :) August 5 I have my glucose test Boo I don't wanna drink "The Juice" oh well I guess it's good to know if you have GB or not. I doubt I do but you never know. THey put me on new medication for all the throwing up the doctor's are hoping its just from heartburn but their not sure they said if the new stuff doesn't help to call the office. THey also said they still aren't to worried yet because I didn't lose weight this time that thats a good sign. But they asked a million questions about it so I think their a little worried they just don't want me stressed over it because that obviously won't help. But I'm not worried I know Ellie's okay she likes to beat me up all the time :). So over all all's good Fontal height still right on track at 24cm. :)

June 10th, 2009 It's a GIRL

Well it's a GIRL. Ellie Rose Runyon is on her way. Kenny about cried and there was no mistaking she was a girl. :) The ultrasound went good. We had a little trouble getting all her measurements due to Ellie being curled up in a ball the whole time. lol It was cute she didn't want to stretch out for the tech. Her heart rate was great at 164. No more infection YAY. The doctor was confident that I should be done with that for now. Hopefully it stays gone. Still no weight gain but he said we won't worry about that because me and Ellie's measurements we're all right on the money. :)

Baby Ellie Rose at 20 weeks and 3 days!

May 26, 2009

At 18 weeks we had baby kicks. I'll never for get babies first kicks. It was like baby was going hey you I can hear you talking about me.

May 17, 2009

We had movement. I felt my first flutters from baby.

16 weeks! May 12, 2009

We had made it too 16 weeks. That month at our doctor's appt. it was not so much fun. I had to have a colposcopy due to abnormal cells on my cervix and was told I still had and infection.
So Tuesday May 12, 2009 I had my 16 week check-up and colposcopy. It started that I have lost more weight. But baby heartbeat was strong and very rhythmatic so the doctor's not going to worry about it yet. It was funny baby wouldn't stay in the same place he had to keep moving the doppler. Then the crappy part.  I have to go back on medication for bacteria infection. Which is not so good it makes me sick and can cause per-mature birth so lets hope it gets rid of the infection this time so I'm done with it. Then the Colposcopy. Turns out I do have a few spots of abnormal cells around my cervix but my doctor want's to wait and see if my body will take care of it after I give birth before doing a biopsy. So I go back for another colposcopy 6 weeks after I have baby and they'll do a biopsy then. I'm just glad baby's swimming around in there happy as can be. On an up note less then four weeks till the big day of revealing. :)
